This Careers Privacy Statement applies to Vanquis Bank Limited ("Vanquis Bank"). The terms "we", "us" or "our" means Vanquis Bank (where applicable).  This Privacy Statement applies directly in respect of the Careers website ("Careers Website").

Collection of Personal Information

As part of registering with us online to apply for a job, we will collect your personal information for the purpose of assessing and contacting you in respect of your application for employment. Information that you provide to us will be used for the purposes of determining your suitability as a candidate. We may store your personal information in hardcopy documents or electronically on our computer systems for a period of 6 months.

Your information will be collected by us if you register for our online recruitment services at our Careers Website. The types of personal information we may collect in respect of an application for employment include your name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, employment history, education credentials and any other information you provide to us in your resume (such as referee details).

The purposes for which we will generally collect and use your personal information will include: 

• to consider your application for employment with us;
• to contact you to discuss your application for employment with us;
• to contact your referee/s in respect of your application for employment with us;
• to perform our administrative operations, including record keeping and archiving; and
• to conduct market or applicant satisfaction research.

In certain circumstances, we may also collect personal information about you which is sensitive. Sensitive personal data includes information about a person's racial or ethnic origin, religious or similar beliefs, physical or mental health or condition or about the commission of, or proceedings for, any offence committed or alleged to have been committed by that person, the disposal of such proceedings or the sentence of any court in such proceedings.

Unless the collection of sensitive information is required or permitted by or under law, we will obtain your consent to its collection. If the sensitive information relates directly to your application for a job with us, you consent to our collection of it.

We will also collect personal information directly from you when you deal with us over the telephone or in person, send us a letter or email or visit our website. We may, for purposes of security, training, or information or application verification, listen to and/or record telephone calls to which you are a party with us.

Third parties

We may use third parties to operate, assist and maintain our Careers Website. These third parties will have access to your confidential information as part of the services we provide to you for lodging an online application for employment with us.

If at any time you supply us with personal information about another person (for example, a referee), you should ensure that you are authorised to do so and you must agree to inform that person who we are, that we will use and disclose their personal information and that they may gain access to their personal information should we hold it.
