Vanquis in the Community
As a UK company, we like to think we are a valued part of the community and try to do our bit to help build a better society for everyone. We actively encourage our staff to join in events and community projects by giving paid time off for projects, as well as making a financial contribution to projects.
Breaks4Kids
Together with the Youth Hostelling Association (YHA) we have been supporting Breaks4Kids, giving young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunities they deserve. Without the help of Breaks4Kids a lot of these children wouldn't be able to afford to enjoy school trips with all the inspirational benefits they bring. Our staff participate on school trips and help with various events to support this work.
What do Teach Africa do?
Teach Africa gives children from the Nairobi slums a brighter start in life. With families earning around a
dollar a day, these children could never afford the benefits of a secondary education costing £350 a year.
With our help Teach Africa is offering them the opportunity for a new future.

How are we helping them?
In January 2009 some of our staff went to work with Teach Africa in Nairobi. We visited children attending schools with the following aims:
- To help to ensure payments are reaching the right destination
- To check that children are being looked after and are happy
- To ensure the school is meeting the standard we expect for children
