Vanquis Bank registered

  • Vanquis Bank is set up by Provident Financial Group.
  • Vanquis Bank is licensed by the OFT for Consumer Credit business.

2003

Over 36,000 customers accepted!

  • The Customer Service call centre is set up at Chatham in Kent.
  • Vanquis Bank becomes authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
  • Vanquis Bank launches its first direct mail campaign with the first credit cards issued in May.

Over 77,000 customers accepted!

  • After a successful pilot, Provident Financial Group gives Vanquis Bank the green light to grow.

2005

Over 196,000 customers accepted!

  • Staffing levels are increased at Vanquis Bank head office requiring a move to new premises in Arthur Street, London.

Over 341,000 customers accepted!

  • Vanquis Bank launches its first website and starts advertising on the Internet.
  • Vanquis Bank launches its first customer satisfaction survey.

2007

Over 485,000 customers accepted!

  • Vanquis Bank test various new marketing channels such as door-drops and magazine inserts.

  • The customer satisfaction survey reveals that over 80% of customers would recommend Vanquis Bank to a friend.
  • The Customer Service call centre moves into brand new larger premises in Chatham in Kent.

2009

Over 840,000 customers accepted!

  • Vanquis Bank launches a new brand identity.
  • New website and credit cards are launched.
