The finances of people buying new homes are likely to be hit by a number of additional costs, according to one organisation.
Unbiased.co.uk has noted that solicitor fees and survey costs will add to the amount that house buyers will need to pay in order to move, along with things like stamp duty.
However, the website suggests that as many as 24 per cent of people are not currently aware of the added fees that apply to property purchases, which might force some to get credit.
The importance of budgeting has been emphasised by the Unbiased.co.uk chief executive Karen Barrett.
"The other costs will still add up to a substantial amount which needs to [be] budgeted for in order to avoid getting a nasty shock," she stated.
More first-time buyers might be able to purchase homes in the future, Ms Barrett noted last month, thanks to the government's decision to set a £250,000 stamp duty threshold for them.
