A number of consumers living in Wales still lack confidence in the country's economy, according to new figures.
Of those polled in a recent Principality Building Society survey, 81.7 per cent do not feel that the nation has escaped its recession.
The research suggests that the economic downturn has reduced the amount of cash that many respondents are able to spend, which might have forced some people to get credit in recent times.
Confidence might not return for a while, according to the firm's chief operating office Graeme Yorston.
"Despite rumours that the recession is over, it will take some time before consumer confidence is fully restored and people start to spend again," he commented.
Saving is something that 30 per cent of the Principality survey respondents are looking to focus more on in the near future.
Meanwhile, the organisation has recently highlighted the potential tax benefits that it believes cash ISA products can offer to consumers.
