Sales shoppers 'should budget carefully'
Consumers should carefully consider how they intend to pay for items that they find in the January sales, it has been claimed.

According to Money.co.uk, people hoping to find bargains after Christmas should try to follow a strict budget to ensure that they do not go overboard.

Meanwhile, the website also believes that it is important for consumers to take care when making use of credit cards in the sales and not spend more than they can afford to.

Money.co.uk's MD Chris Morling believes that it could be a good move for people to draw up a "sales strategy".

He added: "With a slow recovery predicted for next year and pressure set to continue on household budgets, it pays to do your homework beforehand."

Mr Morling recently suggested that consumers should take stock of their financial situation as 2009 draws to a close.
