Individuals struggling with financial difficulties such as a
bad credit rating may be likely to experience adverse mental health issues such as stress.
New research from MoneySupermarket.com indicates over 15 million Brits worry about their money situation every day.
Of those who feel stressed, 23 per cent state the main cause of their problems is their concern for their economic future.
Furthermore, 76 per cent of respondents said they expect their cash difficulties to be exacerbated in 2012, with the majority citing the rising cost of living as a mitigating factor.
"Apathy, lack of time and knowledge are some of the reasons for not taking control of the situation [but] it really is worthwhile sitting down and seeing where savings can be made," head of banking for the price comparison site Kevin Mountford remarked.
Indeed, founder of online resource Taming the Pound Kim Stephenson recently claimed budget planning, combined with careful consideration of what needs to be achieved, can alleviate stress.
