Housing costs 'still causing people financial problems'
A number of people are still likely to be facing financial problems due to the cost of housing, an expert has noted.

The Chartered Institute of Housing's (CIH) chief executive, Sarah Webb, has noted the findings of a YouGov survey published by her organisation last spring, which predicted difficulties ahead for many people.

While some tenants might be forced to get credit in order to meet their housing outgoings, Ms Webb suggests that it might be a good idea for consumers to gain advice about their situation.

She commented: "CIH Financial Inclusion Advisors are already working with a large number of affordable housing providers to develop initiatives that will reach some of the most vulnerable and low income households in the UK."

The remarks made by the expert follow Association of Residential Letting Agents figures, which reveal that rental payments may be proving problematic for some people who are living in tenanted properties.
