A number of UK consumers do not have great confidence concerning their current financial situation, new research suggests.
Less than 50 per cent of those 35 to 45-year-olds polled in a recent F&C Investments/OnePoll.com survey believe that their finances are well under control.
However, a strong lack of control was reported by 14 per cent of those responding.
F&C Investments' Scott Stevens has noted that some people in this age category do not appear to be getting to grips with their financial futures.
"There is a real need for people in this age group to sort their financial lives out," he commented.
When it came to the issue of borrowing, which might include things like credit card debt, nearly one third of those polled with debts were said to have some concerns regarding the amount of cash they owe.
It was recently suggested by the Moneyfacts.co.uk spokesman Darren Cook that inflation might be having a negative effect on those looking to improve their financial situation by saving money.
