Money conference to focus on people with lower incomes
A major financial conference is to look at how people on low incomes have been negatively affected by the economic downturn.

With the support of Citizens Advice, the Association of British Credit Unions Limited (ABCUL) and Liverpool John Moores University's Research Unit for Financial Inclusion, the Northern Money Conference will host a number of speakers next month.

ABCUL chief executive Mark Lyonette suggests that it is important to address the financial trends which are currently affecting a number of people.

He commented: "No conference at this time could ignore the changing political environment and its potential impact on organisations and services endeavouring to serve low-income communities."

With people less likely to get credit due to the recent economic environment, Anna Sofat, ADDIDI Wealth's director, recently noted that consumers have had to adopt a new financial approach, tackling their debts and aiming to increase the amount of money they save.
