Those who are attempting to repair a
credit rating by reducing their outgoings may be waiting for energy prices to be cut further.
If this is the case, they should not be complacent and take action to gain control of their finances themselves.
This is according to energy doctor at the Energy Saving Trust Jessica Forster, who advised people not to "rest on their laurels" in terms of their cash concerns.
"You can take matters into your own hands, compound your savings and reduce your carbon footprint by taking energy efficiency seriously," she explained.
Chief executive of National Energy Action Jenny Saunders also recently recommended taking sustainability measures, claiming this would result in bill savings, in addition to advising reduction of usage.
Ms Forster explained taking measures to insulate a home and make it "less leaky" will make the abode more comfortable and offer further financial protection should prices be subject to further hikes.
