Budgeting 'can help holidaymakers avoid debt'
By budgeting carefully, holidaymakers should be able to stop themselves from getting into debt during their trips away from home this summer, according to one expert.

Whether they are journeying in the UK or further afield, the travelsupermarket.com travel expert Bob Atkinson suggests that there are a number of ways that consumers might be able to avoid the prospect of debt, which might include credit card debt.

Mr Atkinson feels that these could include travelling mid-week to get cheaper deals.

For those who do have debt concerns, he advised: "The key thing for anyone who is worried is to set a budget and to stick to it."

The expert added: "If you can't afford what you want for what you've got then something has to give."

When it comes to issues relating to holiday finance, research published by uSwitch.com recently suggested that as many as 15 million mobile phone users might fail to assess how much it could cost them to use their handsets abroad.
