Ministers 'must continue to support financially vulnerable'
It is important that the government's forthcoming emergency Budget offers support to those who are financially vulnerable, one expert has suggested, which might help people that are having to consider adverse credit cards.

According to the Building Societies Association's (BSA) director general, Adrian Coles, those whose homes may be at risk should be should be provided with help from ministers.

He stated: "We are calling upon the government to maintain funding to help financially-vulnerable homeowners at risk of losing their home."

The Support for Mortgage Interest initiative which is currently in place may need to be revised, Mr Coles pointed out, while the existing funding schemes that are available to struggling householders could be reviewed.

While consumers who are in mortgage debt may be in need of government support, the expert went on to suggest that the nation's savers should not be forgotten in the Budget either.

The BSA joined forces with organisations including Citizens Advice last month in order to encourage the government to provide assistance to property owners who are experiencing financial troubles.
