Some people could be having to deal with larger energy costs because of the geographic location of their home, research has suggested, in a development which may have an impact on those in
credit card debt.
The switching website
uSwitch.com has revealed that some householders might be having to foot bills that are £189 higher than people living in different parts of the country.
Those looking to improve their household money management may want to heed the advice offered by the website's director of consumer policy, Ann Robinson, in relation to this issue.
She recommended that people "move to the most competitive plan with the most competitive supplier in their region".
It is vital that people take the time to shop around to get the best available energy deals, the expert added.
Commenting in response to the uSwitch.com figures, the Consumer Focus head of energy policy Audrey Gallacher also highlighted the need for people to compare the energy prices offered by different firms.
