Overseas holidaymakers 'should plan finances in advance'
People should try to plan their travel finances in advance if they are venturing on holidays abroad this summer, it has been suggested.

Consumers might get more for their money if they exchange their cash before heading to the airport, moneysupermarket.com believes.

According to the price comparison website, those who change their currency at an airport just before getting their flight might be missing out on good deals.

When it comes to holiday money management, the site's head of banking Kevin Mountford feels that it might be a good option for travellers to shop around for currency deals.

He added: "Consumers should shop around beforehand to ensure they're getting a competitive rate and not getting stung with high commission fees."

Earlier this month, moneysupermarket.com also noted the continued popularity of credit cards among the UK's consumers.

It noted that the incentives offered by such products appear to be encouraging a number of people to get credit cards.
