Credit card users offered new fraud guidance
People looking to get credit cards may be able to improve their fraud awareness by making use of a new guide.

Produced by the British Bankers' Association (BBA), the Protecting Yourself from Payment Card Fraud document is one of a number of fraud factsheets being made available.

The BBA's director for fraud, Richard Cook, believes that there are number of simple yet potentially effective measures that people can adopt when trying to tackle fraud.

He stated: "Financial crime may be invisible in its execution but it is just like any other kind of theft and our factsheets set out some sensible precautions we can all take to help ourselves."

Meanwhile, Jemma Smith, UK Payments' head of public relations, has recently suggested that people can keep an eye out for fraud by regularly taking a look at their bank statements.

She believes that consumers should contact their card company if they feel that there is a discrepancy in their finances.
