Credit cards 'make online shopping more accessible'

Credit cards have made internet shopping easier for a number of the UK's consumers, it is believed.

Those who are able to get credit and go online may be able to purchase items with greater simplicity, the Interactive Media in Retail Group's David Smith has noted.

"We have a country where the accessibility of things like ... credit cards means that it is very easy for people to purchase online," said Mr Smith, the organisation's director of operations.

People might also be tempted to buy products on the web because of the fact that a number of established high street firms now have a strong internet presence, the expert added.

While online retail is proving popular in the UK, Mr Smith has additionally noted that demand may increase in nations like Germany in the near future.

Meanwhile, people who regularly surf the web have been told by 7Safe's CEO Alan Phillips that financial fraud is something they need to be aware of.
