Pet owners 'may need credit cards' to pay for vet care
Some owners of cats and dogs might need to get credit cards or loans if their animals require treatment from a vet, new research has shown.

Figures published by Gocompare.com have highlighted that when it comes to dealing with pet illnesses, as many as 60 per cent of those polled in a recent survey have not got any insurance in place.

The price comparison website believes that 15 per cent of people might need to opt for credit card products in the event of their pet needing expensive care.

Cutting back on insurance might not always prove to be such a cost effective idea, Gocompare.com's head of product development John Miles believes.

"Insuring a pet for a few pounds a month makes financial sense and can help take away some of the stress and worry when a beloved cat or dog is ill or injured," he commented.

Meanwhile, Gocompare.com has also recently highlighted the importance of business car insurance if people are required to use their own vehicles as part of their work.
