It is important for people to gain support if they are facing large credit card debt problems, an expert has suggested.
Terry Balfour, director of the comparison site IVA.com, believes that debts relating to credit card products appear to be on the rise.
He commented: "Seeking help as soon as possible is the only way out for those in serious debt. They simply cannot do it alone."
Mr Balfour has noted that when it comes to the issue of major debts, nearly 75 per cent more enquiries have been made to his website since this month began.
Store cards may cause problems for female consumers in particular at the present time, the expert went on to say.
Meanwhile, the Debt Advice Foundation's managing director David Rodger recently outlined his belief that objectivity is a requirement if people are looking to sort out their finances and successfully set themselves budgets.
