Women more likely to pay down credit bills?
Women could be more likely to prioritise their outgoings in order to pay down credit card debt.

This has been suggested in the results of a study from Legal & General, which found the number of females who are in the mood to save currently stands at 72 per cent.

It was noted this is an increase from the 67 per cent that was recorded last year, whereas the number of male respondents who said they are looking to set money aside for the future fell to 66 per cent.

The equivalent figure from the previous survey was 70 per cent, but a greater emphasis on paying off credit card bills was also indicated.

An estimated 21 per cent of the population claimed this is a priority for 2012, compared with 12 per cent one year ago.

Cutbacks may be required in order to achieve this and a recent study from Ipsos Market & Opinion Research International found many UK adults have made this a part of their budget plans for 2012.
