Some holidaymakers 'may not be wary enough of credit card fraud'
Many credit card users are not focusing enough of their attention on the threat of fraud when buying summer holidays online, new research has suggested, which may offer a wake-up call to consumers with poor credit credit cards.

According to figures published by Get Safe Online, 22 per cent of those polled in a recent survey do not ensure that websites are secure before typing in their credit card details.

The organisation's managing director Tony Neate has noted that people may become less cautious due to the excitement of booking a holiday for themselves.

He stated: "Fraudsters ... play on people's desires - we get caught up in the excitement of a 'bargain dream holiday' and cautiousness goes out of the window."

Meanwhile, holidaymakers were recently encouraged to avoid racking up summer holiday debts by budgeting carefully, with travelsupermarket.com travel expert Bob Atkinson noting this may prove to be useful.
