Credit card users 'need to be wary of World Cup fraud'
Credit card holders heading to South Africa to follow the World Cup in the coming weeks have been advised to ensure that they are aware of the dangers posed by fraud.

Those looking to get credit cards before leaving the UK might benefit from the advice issued by Neil Munroe, a spokesman at the Identity Fraud Communications Awareness Group.

He is reported by the Guardian as saying that caution should be exercised by those with cards.

The expert stated: "We are urging consumers to be aware of the potential fraud scams which might give them a financial hangover when they get back."

Meanwhile, writing in the same article, Rebecca Smithers has alerted World Cup tourists about the potential threat of ATM fraud in the tournament's host nation.

The World Cup begins on June 11th, with England due to play their first match against the USA the following day.
