Credit card users 'should take fraud precautions'
There are a number of measures that consumers could adopt if they want to reduce their chances of being hit by credit card fraud, according to an expert.

Credit reports might offer one useful solution to card users, according to uSwitch.com's personal finance expert Rumina Hassam, by giving people the chance to see whether their finances have recently been affected by the activities of fraudsters.

Ms Hassam went on to say: "One of the simplest ways to reduce the risk of credit card fraud is to limit the number of active accounts you have on the go at any one time."

Meanwhile, the expert also suggested that people looking to get credit cards should be wary of disclosing important financial details to unreliable sources, when making use of the internet.

Card fraud losses dropped by £170 million last year, figures from the UK Cards Association have this week revealed.
