Charitable credit cards 'proving popular'

Charitable credit cards are proving popular among people looking to donate money, according to one firm.

The comparison site moneysupermarket.com suggests that charity cards can see a percentage of people's expenditure go towards their chosen cause.

Meanwhile, it also notes that a one-off donation is made to the charity when a person looking to get credit gains access to a card.

The website's credit card expert Peter Harrison believes that there are a number of ways in which people can contribute to charities in an effective manner.

He said: "Charitable credit cards are an easy way of supporting a worthy cause, as all you have to do is use your card in the normal way."

Earlier this month, the firm published survey results showing that when it comes to outstanding credit card balances, a number of people are looking to put off making repayments until a later point in time.
