Govt to offer further financial support to fuel poor
The government is planning to offer more financial support to those who are in fuel poverty, following announcements made in the chancellor's Pre-Budget Report.

It was noted by the Department of Energy and Climate Change that ministers are to continue to focus on the Warm Front heating scheme in the near future.

Meanwhile, the department also points out the potential impact of Alistair Darling's announcement that £200 million in funding is to be used to make people's homes more energy efficient.

"The package of measures announced by the Chancellor demonstrate the UK’s continuing commitment to cutting our domestic carbon emissions, helping the most vulnerable households," energy secretary Ed Miliband said.

Meanwhile, those looking to manage credit card debt may be keen to note the view of National Energy Action chief executive Jenny Saunders, who recently suggested that vulnerable homeowners may need to be provided with more guidance about debt issues.
