Debt advice is likely to be sought by a number of people during the year's first quarter, an expert has highlighted.
The UK Insolvency Helpline's spokesperson Ian Boden-Smyth has highlighted the large investment that his own organisation has needed in recent years, in order to cope with public demand for debt guidance.
He suggests that this trend could continue in the near future.
"I think it is going to be pretty busy in this first quarter of 2010," he commented.
"It usually quietens down towards Easter and the school holidays and then picks up after."
People looking to manage credit card debt may be able to access budgeting advice by getting in touch with the helpline that Mr Boden-Smyth works for.
Earlier this month, it was revealed by the trade body R3 that more than 900,000 people may be failing to deal with their debt problems, because they are not trying to access help.
