NHS service launched to address debt concerns
A new NHS service has been developed in a bid to help consumers who may be experiencing stress because of credit card debt and other financial problems.

It is hoped that the helpline, dubbed the NHS Stressline, will support members of the public if they feel that financial matters are impinging on their mental wellbeing.

The government's care services minister Phil Hope suggests that the helpline will offer people a variety of support services.

He commented: "After the festive season many of us take a long hard look at our finances.

"Tightening our belts and getting out of debt always features high on the list of new year's resolutions."

The NHS Stressline will offer people the guidance of health advisors who have relevant training.

Meanwhile, consumers have also been encouraged by PayPal to avoid new year debt by drawing up a budget if they plan to spend money in the January sales.
