People looking to avoid getting a bad credit rating might benefit from some of the measures which have been suggested by one expert.

According to the Confused.com head of credit cards Joanne Garcia, there are various ways in which people might be able to preserve their credit record in the future.

She stated: "Things like making sure you meet credit card payments, not borrowing too much, not remaining too close to your credit limits and not making multiple credit applications will all help."
