Overtime reductions 'may hit finances' of some workers
The finances of some UK workers may be hit by a reduction in the amount of paid overtime hours that are available to them, it has been claimed.

According to figures published by the Trades Union Congress (TUC), this year has seen a decrease in the amount of employees undertaking overtime work.

Brendan Barber, general secretary of the TUC, believes that a reduction in overtime opportunities could affect the budgets of some families.

He commented: "Lots of people rely on overtime pay to earn a decent living. As Christmas approaches, a lack of extra income will put family budgets under even greater strain."
