Energy efficiency 'might help address large fuel bills'
Homeowners who are concerned about the impact that large fuel bills might have on their finances should aim to improve their focus on energy efficiency during warmer periods, it is believed.

While some people may currently be looking to get credit in order to meet their energy outgoings, National Energy Action spokeswoman Lesley Tudor-Snodin suggests that householders might want to consider a number of factors when it comes to their fuel consumption.

"Being more energy efficient during the warmer months can help balance out the high use during the winter," she commented.

Meanwhile, if people do have fears about the size of their bills, Ms Tudor-Snodin believes that they should not allow the anxieties they are feeling to "cost them their health".

Figures published by Ofgem have recently shown that the third quarter of 2009 saw 13 per cent more consumers seeking debt agreements from their electricity providers.
