Financial considerations have had an influence on the new year's resolutions of a number of the country's consumers, new research has suggested.
Survey results published by the consumer group Which? show that as many as 56 per cent of those poll respondents who have drawn up resolutions are looking to address financial issues.
Meanwhile, when it comes to younger consumers, the body has noted that 55 per cent of those respondents aged between 16 and 24 have adopted more financially focussed resolutions than in the past.
Peter Vicary-Smith, chief executive of Which?, believes that UK consumers should be given a greater amount of input this year when it comes to shaping the country's financial sector.
He commented: "Ordinary people are still feeling the repercussions of the financial crisis yet their voice has so far been missing from the debate about how to rebuild our banking system."
Among a series of money saving tips for this year, Which? recently suggested that those looking to manage credit card debt should check the APR of their products.
