UK consumers 'to continue careful financial approach'
The end of the UK's recession is not going to stop some people from adopting a careful financial approach, it has been noted.

PayPal UK's marketing director Mark Hodson believes that consumers are not likely to return to their old ways in the short term at least, which might apply to those who are looking to manage things like credit card debt.

He commented: "Although we're now technically out of recession it's going to be some time before consumers start feeling better off and in the meantime we're likely to remain savvy shoppers."

The remarks made by Mr Hodson follow PayPal/Future Laboratory figures which have revealed that a cautious route is still likely to be followed by 19 per cent of the online shoppers that were polled in a recent survey.

Last month, PayPal highlighted the trend for many consumers residing in city centres to shop online, which might help them to make money savings.
