People 'may be able to reduce outgoings' by driving correctly

In order to lower their outgoings, it might prove useful for people to think about some of their driving habits, it has been suggested.

According to Shell UK media manager David Wood, it should not prove too difficult for motorists to use their cars in a more cost-friendly way.

He stated: "Just inflate the tyres properly, don't drive with the windows down, get rid of any unnecessary clutter weighing down the car.

"With driving, try doing a few miles per hour lower than normal."

Consumers might be able to save themselves fairly sizeable sums of money by learning how to use their vehicles in the most efficient way, Mr Wood went on to suggest.

Rather than looking to get credit, Principality Building Society recently suggested that many Welsh consumers are currently aiming to reduce the amount of cash they spend on clothing in the current financial climate.
