The current economic climate is making a number of people feel nervous about making any major short-term decisions, an expert has suggested, which might have an impact on those who are looking to get credit.
According to the
Personal Finance Society's president Mike Fosberry, the effects of the recession have not yet disappeared.
He commented: "We've seen another increase in unemployment, and [more than] 50,000 unemployed.
"I think that figure is getting much bigger."
The recession is not yet over in the expert's opinion, with the country's large public sector deficit another area of concern for him.
Mr Fosberry feels that the financial situation may still be having an impact on people's short-term plans in particular, with a greater sense of apprehension being felt.
The financial wellbeing of UK consumers fell in the opening 12 weeks of 2010, Alliance Trust recently suggested, following the publication of its new Financial Reality Index.
