High fuel bills 'causing worry among many homeowners'
Fuel bills are still contributing to the financial worries of some consumers, new research has suggested, which might have an impact on those in credit card debt.

When listing their economic concerns, 19 per cent of those polled in the latest British Retail Consortium and Nielsen Confidence Index stated that such bills were their first or second greatest source of worry.

Meanwhile, 71 per cent of the survey's respondents do not believe the next year will see any major improvements in the country's jobs market.

The consortium's director general Stephen Robertson believes that some of the country's consumers may also be short of spare cash at the moment.

He stated: "Customers feel better than they did a year ago but many people are still concerned about jobs, the economy and household bills."

Earlier this month, it was noted by Mind's policy and campaigns manager Colin Walker that some people's mental health may have been affected by the recent financial climate.
