Mobile banking 'may require improved security awareness'
Consumers may need to improve their security focus if they want to make use of mobile banking facilities, an expert suggests.

According to Steve Reynolds, chairman of the Mobile Data Association, mobile banking could offer people the convenience of being able to quickly purchase items through their handsets.

However, while noting the potential for mobile banking, Mr Reynolds added: "We've got a job as an industry to educate consumers about protecting themselves because some people still haven't put simple PIN passwords on their device. Another big problem we face is crime."

The expert went on to say that younger people in particular appear to be driving forward innovations such as mobile banking.

Those looking to use their mobiles to manage things like credit card debt may also be interested to note that research published by NatWest and Monitise has suggested that many consumers would welcome more mobile banking opportunities.ADNFCR-2660-ID-19471567-ADNFCR
