Online energy tariffs 'may help with money management'
Online energy tariffs could help to improve people's focus when it comes to money management, it has been suggested.

According to Scott Byrom, the utilities manager at price comparison site moneysupermarket.com, consumers could lower their energy spending by choosing to pay their bills monthly and via direct debit.

Those looking to overcome credit card debt by saving more of their money may also be interested to hear that Mr Byrom believes online tariffs could offer other benefits.

He noted: "Changing to an online tariff gives consumers the opportunity to keep track of their payments and have a clearer idea of their balance by managing their account online."

The expert added that the amount of administration bill-payers face can also be reduced if they opt for online tariffs.

Last week, moneysupermarket.com suggested charitable credit cards can be one effective means of donating funds to good causes, with such products already said to be a popular option.ADNFCR-2660-ID-19476421-ADNFCR
