Shopping around for financial products could help householders to address post-Christmas money troubles by offering them financial savings, it is believed.
Moneysupermarket.com's Clare Francis has noted that the start of 2010 provides a useful opportunity for consumers to assess their current outgoings.
"We're all feeling the pinch at the moment and for those suffering an extra financial hangover from the festive period, recovery will be all the quicker in 2010 if significant savings are made," Ms Francis, the site's editor has claimed.
Money savings can be made if people are willing to shop around for financial products that are more competitive than what they may currently be receiving, the expert notes.
Moneysupermarket.com points out that such savings might be made in relation to products like mortgages and utility costs.
Those looking to get credit cards should also check to see what deals are currently available, the site suggests.
Meanwhile, Unbiased.co.uk's chief executive Karen Barrett has recently asserted that independent financial advisors may additionally prove useful in helping people to manage their money.
