In order to tackle health issues caused by their current money worries, people should attempt to take more control of their financial situations, it has been suggested by one expert.
Over the course of the last year,
AXA research has shown that around two-thirds of people witnessed a growth in their stress levels.
Living costs and debt repayments, which may include
credit card debt, are said to be among the issues that are causing concern among a number of the UK's residents.
However, head of psychological health and wellbeing at AXA, Eugene Farrell, commented that consumers might be able to address their problems by looking at ways in which they can take a greater degree of financial control.
Mr Farrell stated: "The more someone feels in control, the fewer symptoms [of illness] they will have."
Back in May, AXA also warned the country's female consumers about the need for them to protect the financial security of their families.
