Many UK travellers 'carefully budgeting holidays'
Many cash-conscious travellers are setting themselves tight holiday budgets this year, new figures suggest.

Aviva research has revealed that less money will be spent by 25 per cent of those heading to foreign destinations in the coming months.

As many as 62 per cent of these people are likely to set themselves daily budgets to ensure they do not go overboard while on foreign holidays, the firm believes.

However, consumers looking to cut down on their travel insurance to save cash in 2010 have been warned by Aviva's travel product manager Jerry Finch about the problems this might cause further down the line.

"Accidents and illnesses do happen on holiday and you could end up footing an expensive medical bill if you haven't taken out travel insurance," he stated.

Meanwhile, those hoping to get credit cards to use on Easter trips have recently been advised by moneysupermarket.com to make their applications for such products quickly.
