HMRC to offer tax help to flooded homeowners
People who may be concerned about financial matters if their homes have recently been flooded may be able to gain tax help from a new HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) facility.

The organisation has set up a helpline which could see people given access to support if this month's bad weather has had an impact on them.

It is thought that this could include the creation of new tax payment schedules if floods have had a negative effect on the financial situations of consumers.

Meanwhile, those who have seen their tax records damaged by flood water may also be able to seek assistance.

Stephen Timms, who acts as financial secretary to the Treasury, commented that homeowners might be able to get "peace of mind" by getting in touch with the HMRC helpline.

People looking to overcome credit card debt through better money management may also be interested to hear that HMRC recently called on the country's older residents to see if they are eligible to claim back any money, if they feel they have overpaid savings interest tax.ADNFCR-2660-ID-19484832-ADNFCR
