UK workers 'facing higher inflation rates'
The finances of many UK workers may have been hit by a recent increase in inflation, new figures suggest.

Those aged between 30 and 49 saw inflation rise to a level of two per cent during October, according to findings from the Alliance Trust Research Centre.

People looking to get out of credit card debt may be interested to note that this figure is said to have increased from a previous rate of 1.4 per cent.

The research centre's head Shona Dobbie suggested that lower energy bill prices seem to have offered some financial support to the country's older population.

However, she continued: "As expected, inflationary trends have increased once again this month and it now appears to be the 30 to 49 year olds who are being hit hardest."

According to figures published by the Office for National Statistics, the official CPI annual rate stood at 1.5 per cent last month.ADNFCR-2660-ID-19464451-ADNFCR
