Brits 'should start stocking up for Christmas'

Brits should start stocking up for the festive season in order to beat the Christmas rush, according to lovemoney.com

Consumers have been advised to shop around, plan ahead and get organised in the run-up to the festive season.

At a time when rising unemployment and a weak economy has left many Brits struggling, Ed Bowsher, head of consumer finance at lovemoney.com, said that consumers should make sure they do not miss out this Christmas.

"No-one wants to still be eating turkey sandwiches on New Year's Eve," he added. "If you don't think ahead you could be throwing uneaten food away because it's gone past its sell-by date."

Last year, one in five Brits spent less on Christmas shopping, according to research by Abbey.ADNFCR-2660-ID-19435525-ADNFCR
