Car buyers 'may be failing to research credit cards'
People looking to find the funds for new car purchases are often failing to research the credit card options that might be open to them, new research suggests.

According to figures published by esure Car Insurance, as many as 47 per cent of those queried in a recent survey may not be looking very closely at all the available financial deals.

The firm suggests that cards and personal loans might be options for those looking to get credit.

Its head of risk and underwriting, Mike Pickard, believes that it is important for consumers to shop around before making a new car purchase.

He commented: "Whether it's the insurance cover, finance package or the price tag of a new set of wheels, motorists should spend a little extra time doing their homework beforehand."

Meanwhile, the financial problems that burst pipes can cause during the winter months were also recently highlighted by esure Home Insurance.
