Cardholders 'should be wary of ID theft'
Card ID theft is something that credit card users may need to be aware of, it has been highlighted.

CPP's card fraud expert Sarah Blaney has warned people about the need for vigilance surrounding fraudulent activity.

She has emphasised the problems posed by ID theft, which sees fraudsters "take over the running of another person's bank account - usually by changing the address details and then requesting a new card and genuine PIN to access the bank account".

As a result, the expert has underlined the need for people to assess their bank statements in order to deal with cases of card fraud.

This can make any financial discrepancies clear to consumers and allow them to take action, she believes.

People looking to manage credit card debt by using online forms of banking may be interested to note the view of Financial Fraud Action UK's head of fraud control Katy Worobec, who believes that consumers need to stay aware of fraud.
