Keep check of credit card statements, Brits told.
Brits should make regular checks on their credit card statements during the postal strike to cut down on the risk of falling victim to ID fraud, according to CreditExpert.

With more strike action threatened, CreditExpert has advised Brits to be extra vigilant about missing mail to ensure disrupted mail services do not become a smokescreen for ID fraudsters.

Darryl Bowman from CreditExpert issued the following advice to consumers who are currently paying off credit card debt: "Investigate and report any missing items quickly. In particular look out for your credit card bills arriving when you expect them to."

Although it is tempting to assume missing post is due to a backlog, credit card customers should remain vigilant, as fraudsters can obtain personal information and documents by stealing or redirecting mail.

Consumers are set to enjoy greater protection when borrowing money after the Lending Standards Board - an independent watchdog - launched a new Lending Code which will monitor the actions of lenders.ADNFCR-2660-ID-19445729-ADNFCR
