Credit card users 'should recognise importance of repayments'
People who regularly make use of credit cards should realise the importance of meeting their repayments, it has been suggested.

Figures published by the price comparison website Confused.com show that failure to make repayments has led to the closure of a number of people's accounts.

The site believes that this problem appears to be most prominent in Yorkshire, where a lack of repayments is said to have been the cause of 35 per cent of account closures.

Joanne Garcia, who acts as the firm's head of credit cards, believes missing repayments could impact upon people's ability to get credit in the future.

She noted: "Credit providers - which include mortgage lenders - leave no stone unturned when it comes to checking a person's credit worthiness."

Confused.com has also recently suggested that people should consider travel insurance if they are planning to visit any overseas Christmas markets in the coming weeks.ADNFCR-2660-ID-19468654-ADNFCR
