The importance of a service which provides guidance to people with debt concerns has been emphasised by one government minister.
John Healey, the country's housing minister, believes that the National Debtline has a key role to play when it comes to offering support to UK homeowners with mortgage fears.
He commented: "This is a key part of the comprehensive range of support the government has put in place to help homeowners avoid repossession, which has helped over 330,000 people since April last year."
Mr Healey was speaking after a recent visit to the National Debtline site in Birmingham.
The service, which may also be able to help those with credit card debt, is said to receive as many as 1,600 phone calls on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, the government has also recently highlighted the financially-related information that is available to people on its DirectGov website.
This includes topics relating to debts and money management.
