People looking to avoid credit card debt next Christmas may benefit from the launch of a new campaign in 2010.
Dubbed Save Xmas, the initiative will aim to offer guidance to people about how they can put money aside towards the festive season from an earlier date, instead of racking up debts.
A number of workshops are to be staged as part of the campaign, which is backed by the Office of Fair Trading and Citizens' Advice.
"Christmas will have given many people a debt hangover that they might have been able to avoid," commented John Rhodes of Citizens' Advice.
Mr Rhodes, the organisation's head of financial capability, added: "We're encouraging people to plan for next year."
Meanwhile, Citizens' Advice has recently announced that it is also seeking to help people to manage their money more effectively by supporting the East of England Financial Capability and Inclusion Project.
