Credit card holders give their issuers high marks when it comes to resolving issues of fraud, it has been revealed.
Research carried out by intelligence provider Auriemma Consulting Group indicates that one-third of cardholders say they have been a victim of some sort of data breach or fraud.
The report, entitled Cardbeat, found that 74 per cent of card holders were 'very' satisfied and another 19 per cent 'reasonably' satisfied with their card issuer's response to the problem.
Nancy Stahl, editor of the study, commented: "Credit card fraud will never disappear entirely, however, tools are rapidly being developed that will help consumers and institutions continue to minimise the severity and likelihood of these instances."
She added that the positive comments about the financial services providers are particularly noteworthy in the current economic climate.
Last week, the British Bankers' Association announced the release of the Protecting Yourself from Payment Card Fraud document which offers advice on avoiding credit card crime.
